SerCom’s IT investment has become a key differentiator for our customers. Our IT strategy is centered on the principle of real time information, available on line from anywhere in the world. All demand planning, sourcing, procurement and inventory information is delivered on the SAP (www.sap.com) platform. SerCom has worked exclusively with SAP for 9 years and just in late 2007 re-invested in the mySAP ERP solution upgrade which future proofs our IT applications until 2012.
mySAP ERP is definitively the leading and most flexible ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system in the world. SerCom, through its investment in good people and good systems, has the most advanced systems in the demand planning, sourcing and procurement sector.
In addition we run all of our kitting and light assembly operations on SAP and use SAP to drive our lean manufacturing, pick to monitor, assembly and quality assurance operations.
All of our IT driven processes are readily and speedily integrated with our customer’s and our supplier’s systems. We use SAP’s own tools to perform this integration via the “webMethods” platform and are currently integrated with our 30 organizations.
SerCom maintains it’s own highly skilled internal IT team supporting our global operations. This team optimizes and maintains our business systems and has become expert in the flexible and speedy deployment of SAP in support of our customer’s requirements.
Our strong team of IT professionals positions us uniquely to guarantee fast operational set-up, anywhere in the world using our own dedicated IT resources. Recent examples include operational set up in the US in 7 weeks, Poland in 4 weeks and China in just 2 weeks from project start.
