SerCom Solutions IT strategy is centered on the principle of real time, all site availability of demand planning, sourcing, procurement and inventory information, delivered on the SAP (www.sap.com) platform. SerCom has worked with SAP since Feb 2000 and just this year has re-invested in the mySAP ERP solution which future proofs our IT applications until 2012. mySAP ERP is definitively the leading and most flexible ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution in the world. SerCom, through its investment in good people and good systems, is the leader in demand planning, product and component sourcing and procurement.
In addition we run all of our assembly and distribution operations on SAP and use SAP to drive our lean manufacturing, pick to monitor, assembly, assembly management and quality assurance operations.
All of our IT applications are readily and speedily integrated with our customers systems where appropriate. We use SAP’s own tools to perform this integration via the webMethods B2B (business to business) systems connector software. We integrate using a variety of tools including XML, ANSII X12 and EDIFACT standards among others.
SerCom maintains its own highly skilled internal IT team supporting our global operations. This team optimizes and maintains our IT applications. Our internal team positions us uniquely to guarantee fast operational set-up, anywhere in the world using our own dedicated IT resources.
Recent examples include operational set up in the US in 7 weeks, Poland in 4 weeks and China in just 2 weeks from project start.
All information is centralized and all information is available in real time over the internet. Any reports, inquiries or transactional screens are available to suppliers and customers over the web.
