Skills @ Work Program

May saw the completion of a highly successful second year of the Skills @ Work Programme and the Summer Work Placement Programme with the Crescent College Comprehensive in Dooradoyle, Limerick . This programme has been facilitated by the Schools’ Business Partnership (SBP) and is an initiative of Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) and has been driven under the enthusiastic and innovative stewardship of Brendan McKeon , H&S Manager, SerCom Solutions.

The aim of the programme is to encourage students to stay in school and recognise the value in completing their education. The teams from HR, Business Management, IT, Engineering and Production provided a packed programme that was fun, eye opening and thought provoking for the 3rd, 5th and 6th year students. We have also helped students to prepare their college applications and take one student each Summer for a six-week work placement. In all 43 students have participated in the programme.
