SerCom part of major Irish Times SCM Review

On Thursday 10th July the Irish Times, Ireland prestigous daily newspaper published an insight into the growth and importance of Supply Chain outsourcing. SerCom participated in the review contributing to both the supply chain and supply chain management systems conversations.
Quoted in the Times, Kevin Vaughan (SerCom Business Development Director), commnented in the criticality of the interrelationships between the different elements of the supply chain. SerCom is the central hub that manages those relationships for our customers.
In a deeper look at the systems that power the supply chain Padraig Henry (SerCom IT Director) concentrated on the emergence of ERP (enterprise resource planning systems) like SAP, Navision, Oracle, Peoplesoft and others as the defacto standard in supply chain management systems. The realtime visibility of information and the ease with which these systems integrate with each other are the keys to strong supply chain management. Henry also noted the emerging potential of RFID tagging and the possibilities for even "crisper visibility" within supply chains.
